Digital Arts completes Color Correction and Sound Mix
for Sundance Feature 'Crossing Arizona'

(New York City)

NEW YORK, NY: February 9, 2006: NYC-based finishing house and
post production company Digital Arts (www.digital-arts.net)
recently completed post on the HD production of 'Crossing Arizona,'
which premiered last month at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

Digital Arts worked extremely closely with Rainlake Productions
and director Joseph Matthews on the documentary, which was shot on
mini DV in a variety of remote locations. Working under very tight
deadlines, the Digital Arts team enhanced the controversial political
story into a vividly emotional piece. The team worked on the conform
and color correction while simultaneously working on the theatrical
sound mix in order to meet the deadline.

Process
Color Correction was done in the Digital Arts Digital Intermediate
suite using FinalTouch, a tremendous tool that helped facilitate
the smooth workflow. Since the movie dealt with extremely current
issues, the producers were adding news footage and making changes
virtually until the last minute. The reconform capability of FinalTouch
became essential in order to start grading while the edit was being
tweaked. After final grading and final laybacks, the footage was bumped
up to HD through a Teranex for final delivery to Sundance.

The sound mix required a great deal of dialogue enhancement work, which
posed some challenges for Digital Arts Sound Designer Mike Dillenberger.
"The director wanted little if any artificial sounds or sound design,
so I had to work only with what we were given," explains Dillenberger.
"With so much of the dialogue having been recorded in remote locations
with little audio monitoring, there was a lot of clean up needed to make it
theatre-ready."

The film was output to HDCam for Sundance, where it had more than five
performances, and has been winning critical praise ever since its release.
