Digital Arts pioneers live remote studio session

EMBRACING TECHNOLOGY
When an agency team from Ad agency Leo Burnett wanted to sound design their Nintendo commercial, they wanted a New York shop with an edge, but they could not fly in town to collaborate, due schedule conflicts. Rather than loose the edge, they turned to Digital Arts to get the job done.

Digital Arts is an early pioneer of streaming internet technology, having created one of the first remote post production sessions. The project involved the team of Leo Burnett producers in Chicago and Digital Arts in New York, both working on the Nintendo spot. Digital Arts and the agency collaborated in real time while being 1,000 miles apart, via a live CD-quality Audio Visual webcast. The experience was positive for all involved, resulting in a campaign that came in in record time and under budget.

"Instead of using traditional ftp uploads to get everybody on the same page, we were able to get the whole team to go to the digital arts vitual session live from their office computers and we made all the changes on the fly. The changes and approval process was reduced by 24 to 48 hours and only took 2 to 3 hours" says Leo Burnett agency producer Juan Woodbury.
Realizing the power of the internet early on, Digital Arts continues to implement online solutions in both a front-end and back-end capacity.
